EDIT: November 28, 2013
, I redid the armor, adjusted the saturation on her face, worked on the background and added some other small edits. What I forgot to add when I posted her was that her inspiration was Elizabeth Moon's Paksenarrion. So let me tell you about Paksenarrion! Small wall o' text:
When I was twelve, my dad bought me The Deed of Paksenarrion
and I just loved it. Paks was strong and paladin (eventually) but wasn't self-righteous at all, and I was fascinated by the way she handled herself in a mercenary group outnumbered by men. Moreover, I remember being really perplexed by how Paksenarrion never hooked up with anyone in the book, and she didn't want to. She didn't pine for a man (or anyone) romantically, but was focused on her goals. Up until this point, the women in fantasy I had read about usually hooked up with someone and were often just a love interest appendage to another character. It was then I realized, "Oh. Women don't have to be written with a love interest."--which was a startling revelation at the age of twelve. End wall o' text
Paksenarrion is a great character, and I highly suggest that people who are interested in a strong female character who is paladin but avoids the holier-than-thou pitfall and isn't preoccupied with romance should check out The Deed of Paksenarrion.
Hello everyone! Long time no submit (hyuk hyuk) Lack of updates is due to the usual reasons --- school, work, home, you know, life in general
Today's attempted portrait is another paladin. Eventually, she will be in a mod. I will give you more details when I can! And this project will actually be finished because I'm not the one doing it
Once again, I discovered I cannot do metal without direct reference images. Eventually, I want to rework her armor. Option B is to crop the image close around her face... one of these is definitely less work.
